WHAT: STARS IN THE ALLEY®, a free outdoor concert celebrating the 2006-07 Broadway Season, presented by Continental Airlines, featuring musical numbers performed by cast members from Broadway’s most popular shows. Produced by the League of American Theatres & Producers the concert is one of the most exciting events leading up to the 61st annual Tony Awards® on Sunday, June 10, 2007.

WHEN: Wednesday, June 6, 11 a.m. -12:30 p.m. (approximate end time)

WHERE: Shubert Alley (west of Broadway between 44th and 45th Streets) PRESS ENTRANCE ON 44TH ST

WHO: Performers from Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Company, Coram Boy, Curtains, The Drowsy Chaperone, Frost/Nixon, Grey Gardens, Hairspray, Heartbreak House, Inherit the Wind, Jersey Boys, Journey's End, Legally Blonde The Musical, Les Misérables, The Lion King, The Little Dog Laughed, Mamma Mia!, A Moon for the Misbegotten, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, The Pirate Queen, Radio Golf, Rent, Spring Awakening, Talk Radio, Tarzan, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Wicked, Xanadu, The Year of Magical Thinking…and more.

At this year’s STARS IN THE ALLEY®, the League will present its annual Star Award to The Actors Fund of America, for their contributions to the Broadway community and to honor the Fund’s 125th Anniversary. Accepting on behalf of the organization will be President Brian Stokes Mitchell and Executive Director Joe Benincasa. Presenting the award will be Vanessa Redgrave from The Year of Magical Thinking.
