THE 3RD ANNUAL “THE GREAT GATHERING OF CHEFS”
ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2007 AT THE ATRIUM AT TRUMP TOWER
New York, NY, September 12, 2007 -- Noted photographer Alan “Battman” Batt in conjunction with Pernod Ricard will host The 3rd Annual Great Gathering of Chefs on Thursday, September 27, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at The Atrium at Trump Tower, located at Fifth Avenue and 56th Street, as a Benefit for The Children’s Storefront in Harlem, a not-for-profit, fully accredited, independent, tuition-free school serving pre-school through eighth grade.

The event will also introduce the first release of Batt’s new book, Sandwiches of the World, featuring sandwich creations from world-renowned chefs, including Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali, Jean Georges, David Burke and Tom Colicchio, to name a few. This is Battman’s fourth edition of his food photography book series.
The 3rd Annual Great Gathering of Chefs will bring together participating chefs from top restaurants ranging from New York to New Jersey to Las Vegas and to the US Virgin Islands to autograph copies of Battman’s latest book featuring their sandwich creations. Tickets for the event are $250 which includes the signing, tasting and an autographed book featuring signatures of all the chefs at the event. All proceeds will be donated to The Children’s Storefront in Harlem

Following the autograph meet-and-greet-and cocktail reception, a tasting of featured sandwiches and wine will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Various wines from Pernod Ricard USA will be paired with the chefs’ creations.
Battman, who, on occasion, is addressed by his given name, Alan Batt, is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn. He’s renowned for capturing the best of the city: photographs which have been published on greeting cards and in books celebrating the Big Apple for over 25 years and have undoubtedly made him one of the most recognized photographers in NYC.
Battman, who created and has photographed the world famous New York City Firefighters Calendar since 1996, is the lead photographers for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and is the only photographers with a permanent exhibition at the Empire State Building. His clients include NYC & Company, the US Virgin Islands, Crain’s New York, The Times Square Alliance and Lincoln Center. His work has been published in magazines worldwide. With the publication of his new Sandwiches of the World book, he now has four editions of his successful food photography book series, the others being The Great Bagel & Lox Book, New York Sweets, and Summer in New York.
