The Town Hall will present the “Sunny and decisively joyous” (Variety), "Seamlessly fluent" (New York Times) I Got Rhythm: Mickey and Judy’s Hollywood, a musical feast of songs from films starring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, on Saturday June 9 at 8 PM. Also called "A gem" by the New York Post, it co-stars the multi-award-winning cabaret performer Jeff Harnar and Shauna Hicks, leading lady of Broadway’s Blood Brothers. The show will feature such classics as “Embraceable You, “ “I Wish I Were In Love Again,” “But Not For Me,” “I Got Rhythm” and other memorable songs.

Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland played opposite each other as pals and love interests in 10 lighthearted musicals from 1937 to 1949, which were major hits and premiered songs that endure to this day. Their films include Babes in Arms, Strike Up the Band, Girl Crazy, Thousands Cheer, Life Begins for Andy Hardy and Babes on Broadway.

Jeff Harnar has twice won the Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award (MAC) as Best Male Vocalist and three Backstage Bistro Awards. He has appeared at Carnegie Hall in both the Cole Porter and Noel Coward Centennial Galas, and at other major cabaret venues in New York, around the United States and in Europe. His The 1959 Broadway Songbook, has been recorded live on CD (Original Cast Records) and broadcast on PBS. His second solo recordings Because of You: Fifties Gold, is a collection of pop classics from the songbooks of Tony Bennett, Nat “King” Cole, Doris Day, Johnny Mathis and Johnny Ray. Other TV credits include “Gershwin On Ice” starring Dorothy Hamill, for which he was the singing narrator, and a PBC Holiday concert co-starring K.T. Sullivan. He has performed I Got Rhythm with Shauna Hicks throughout the United States and in London.

Shauna Hicks, praised by New York Magazine as “gifted and winning,” was featured in Broadway’s Meet Me In St. Louis, and co-starred as Rosemary in a national tour of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying opposite Ralph Macchio. Her one-woman show Shauna Hicks and Her ‘60’s Chicks has won MAC CAB and Bistro Awards. Her followup show was Shauna Hicks and her ‘70’s Mix, and her recordings include Unsung Berlin and Broadway Sings Bacharach.
